Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Headed out the door to catch the Mets in Detroit. Sean Manaea, 1-2 5.01 ERA, faces the ageless Charlie Morton, 9-10, 5.25.Tigers are 80-58 and coasting to a division title with a 9.5 game lead on the Royals. Tigers have been wildly inconsistent lately, splitting their last 10 games. Skubal shut down the Royals yesterday, so we'll miss him this series.I was at two of the three games in Pittsburgh, and we know those did not go well. Hopefully a win today!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 More of this shit pitching.
Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Well they pissed away two on and no outs. And Jahmai Jones deposits Sean's first pitch deep into the left field stands.

Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Author Posted September 1, 2025 It is a spectacular day!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Hey, I tune in to a 2-1 lead and the first pitch I watch turns it to a 3-2 deficit.Maybe this is on me.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 We are suddenly chasing with the bags juiced.Morton doesn't have an out pitch in the zone. You have to not chase.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Juan BOOM Bah!!! Grand Style....
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 That's what happens when he throws the curve in the zone.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 What are the chances Manaea can actually hold this lead
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Exactly what we thought.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Author Posted September 1, 2025 The Soto slam was glorious. But Manaea has nothing. Behind in most counts.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Manaea is a complete disservice to the team. If his elbow is what's doing it he should shut it down.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Labor Day Parade of pitchers today.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Well, giving up the tying run by missing the plate by six feet is not the way you draw it up.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Stanek looking as sharp as we expected.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Keith, in his diatribe against catching on one knee, is leaving out that Torrens would likely not be down on all fours here had he been catching in the more traditional crouch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 A LOT of Texas Leaguers today.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 I have to believe Manaea has an issue with his elbowThe offense looks great. Might take 10+ runs to win
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Third Mets lead. That right field corner here at Tigers' Corporate Sponsor Stadium is very triply.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 12 outs to get, and I have no earthly idea how they get them.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Well, Tyler Rogers got three of them. We can be certain, if the game remains close, that Diaz gets assigned for at least three of them.Raley, and (I guess) Helsley for the other six?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 I'm working on a thesis that holds that Mullins plays better during the day.It is still just bouncing around the inside of my head. I don't have any data to support it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 =ashie62 post_id=202979 time=1756755197 user_id=90]Brazoban maybe
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Helsley tipping his pitches again. They are on him.
