kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 I thought there was a limit to how many times a team can getapplejacked and that the Mets met that limit already for 2025.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Author Posted August 22, 2025 That's what Yahoo sports is showing.Wouldn't be the first time they're wrong.Later
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 It's on Apple, I just thought we were done with that for this season.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 So I won't be able to watch tonight's disaster unfold.Howie on the radio, Yanx/Sawx on the TV (muted)
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Same here, muted Yanquiel gameHow quickly will the league "learn" McLean?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 The Braves picked up Joey Wentz off waivers from the Twins a bit over a month ago when all their starters were on the IL. It's his fourth team in a four year ML career [DET, PIT, MIN, ATL] and his third in 2025 alone. It's also his second time in the Braves org as they originally drafted him [1st Round/40th overall in 2016] but dealt him away as a minor leaguer. He has a career 5.35 ERA across 110 ML games so naturally in seven games/six starts with Atlanta he's at 2.60 with a sub-1.00 WHIP
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Author Posted August 22, 2025 Maybe we should send pitchers to their pitching academy. That lineup has more holes than a sieve.(So, naturally they'll score ten runs tonight)Later

The type of guy who could flummox the Mets for one startI am personally willing to get my hands messy by putting some firecrackers up some of the Mets assesThey need to better than "battle" or "care" using prior CPF parlance

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Skanks on AmazonI can watch Blue Jays Marlins or Shark Tank
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Hayden Senger suddenly has a lofty OPS over .400.Also, he is starting two days in a row?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Soto maintaining his patience in a big spot is a good thing. Ducks on the pond have tended to make him more aggressive this season. But hey, a hit each from Taylor and Senger in the same inning. We are already working from some long odds.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Baty doubled over Michael Harris' head, which is a hard place to find the grass. Also another kinda conservative Sarbaugh hold might leave the Mets with regret.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 It's a tough decision to make. Yes you want the Mets to keep scoring. But the longer the inning goes the longer I have to listen to Smoltz Maddux and Glavine.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Did you know that Apple TV has a function that lets you switch to the local radio broadcasts rather than the Apple announcers?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Baty and Vientos both land a ball behind Michael Harris in the same game!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 What's our record this year in game where we hold a 7-1 lead?Is it above .500?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Everybody hits and McLean looks good againYeah!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 And Lindor is playing D with elan, again.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 A little tip for Ronald: when you hit a solo home run when your team is down 6 runs and that's your celebration, you look like a jackass.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 What is weirder? Lindor stealing with a 7-2 lead, or the Braves playing in with a 7-2 deficit when he got to third?
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Why do we keep talking about the ‘95 World Series? Cleveland is not in the house.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Senger back to his rally-killing style.IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL THE POSITION PLAYER IS PITCHING, METS!
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2025 Author Posted August 22, 2025 Taylor is over the Mendoza line. (.206)Who woulda' thunk it?Later
