Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 In my experience, most of the bigger-ticket Nat fans down in the bowl hail from Northern Virginia.

Edgy I am sorry to hear about your Parish friends. That is awful.I should have said that I noticed this on the TV broadcast, that in the early innings, there were lots of empty seats at field level. Usually the Mets draw a better crowd than that with so many transplanted New Yorkers living in the capitol area.My wife ruminated on the possibility that conditions in the DC area, with all of these fascist military and para-military people actively roaming the streets, may have kept more of those fans home.Later on in the game it looked to have filled in a bit more. Could have just been traffic or weather related, too, for all I know.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 I have no confidence in Senga any more. It looks like he hasn't fully recovered from whatever kept him on the IL. And I don't get the warm, fuzzy feeling that Holmes or Manaea can consistently produce a "quality start" (6IP, 3R )Down the stretch, it looks like it will have to be Peterson and McLain and pray for rain.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2025 Author Posted August 21, 2025 Also worth noting about crowd size in Washington — a lot of good people have lost their jobs due to an insane and illegal purging of the federal workforce.

Had some notoriety with his "ghost ball" , but not much else
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2025 Author Posted August 21, 2025 He has a lot to offer a team going forward. He is not pitching well, but it is not the end and it does not undo what good things he has wrought.
