Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 As previously scheduled for the night before, Freddy Peralta and Clay Homes put their remarkably similar seasons to the test against one another.[FIMG=320]https://lunatv.do/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/FREDDY-PERALTA.jpg[/FIMG][FIMG=379]https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/c_crop,w_3712,h_2088,x_0,y_558/c_fill,w_720,ar_16:9,f_auto,q_auto,g_auto/images/ImagnImages/mmsport/inside_the_mets/01jmn2rr5vy309cat9jx.jpg[/FIMG]

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 I don't get that lineup. Why is Marte in the 2 spot?
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Cub Scouts 1 - Mets sniffle... it took only two pitches. Weird, the crowd mics are drowning out the booth here.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 I feel like the Mets have been trailing for three weeks straight.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Apparently our strategy is to wear the starter out before making weak (or no) contact.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Mets offense. 0 for 6. 3 strikeouts.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 I do not like yanking Clay Holmes after 90 pitches, but let us see how the pen responds to the two off days.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 I do not like the pen immediately giving up the tying run.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 These fucking walks. Every single pitcher.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 No relief from the bullpen thus far. Mets are walking far too many hitters.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 Garrett is really showing me something so far.But nothing good.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Call to the bullpen: Double, single, walk, Grand slam HR to #8 hitter w/ .210 Avg. on the season.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 A .210 hitter can be a pretty impressive weapon once you get behind him 3-and-0 with the bases loaded.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Fall behind 3-1 then groove one. This entire bad stretch started by pulling Clay Holmes too early. How fucking stupid.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 For a while there, Reed Garrett was part of the solution, but now he's very much a part of the problem.

Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 We're not even close in these games.Has Garrett been awful lately, or does it just seem that way?

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 The starting pitching has been markedly worse with the loss of Senga and Megill out. Having to run Blackburn and Tidwell every few games is not going to get it done. The lack of innings from the starting pitchers has resulted in a greatly overworked bullpen, that is suddenly showing the effects of over use.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 So the team that needs to score (at least) six runs in the next two innings is the same one that has scored six in their last 34.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
