Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 Think that was the bottom of the tank for Canning?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 Lower part of the Philly lineup due up in B-6. Canning might get another inning although with a short leash.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 That was Alvarez's 28th hit of the season. 23 of them are singles [3 2Bs, 2 HR] ... and five of those are infield hits. His IsoP number [slg - BA] is under 100. mlb avg this season is 153
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 The booth thought that ball was going foul because they (and the camera) followed Castellanos ... but I think he merely mis-played that one.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 That pinch-running decision was interesting. That weird double was moreso.

Or, at least, it is probably more likely correct than the the-ball-turned-like-it-had-a-rudder thesis.Interesting to see Canny back out there. I thought we would get Castillo or the return of Dedniel.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 How many Mets does it take to screw in six lightbulbs?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 Wait, I just saw the 'Bat Signal'The Mets last [CROSSOUT]nine[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]ten[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]eleven[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]twelve[/CROSSOUT] [CROSSOUT]thirteen[/CROSSOUT] Fourteen HRs are solos.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 Feel like there's still a lot of game still left to play

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 You know, only hitting solo homers is no longer really a problem when they come in sevens.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 =ashie62 post_id=195860 time=1750537814 user_id=90]I once saw a study that basically said when streaks, win or lose get to about six or seven the odds of it ending go exponentially higher.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 Even during the debacle that was the month of May '24, the Mets didn't have a seven game losing streak. They did, however, have two five-game streaks [Mar 29 - Apr 4, May 20 - 25] in a four week span.
