That was Alvarez's 28th hit of the season. 23 of them are singles [3 2Bs, 2 HR] ... and five of those are infield hits.

His IsoP number [slg - BA] is under 100. mlb avg this season is 153

The booth thought that ball was going foul because they (and the camera) followed Castellanos ... but I think he merely mis-played that one.

This is correct. Or, at least, it is probably more likely correct than the the-ball-turned-like-it-had-a-rudder thesis.

Interesting to see Canny back out there. I thought we would get Castillo or the return of Dedniel.

Lower part of the Philly lineup due up in B-6. Canning might get another inning although with a short leash.

Very short as it turns out.

No[t] your ball Nimmo

I'm not so sure it wasn't.

He turned away when McNeil started calling but Nimms was both in front of McN and also on his forehand.

I thought he had a better beat on it the whole way.

Romano looks like a 1980 Phil.

Specifically, he looks like Warren Brusstar's head on Ron Reed's body.

McNeil, in the meantime, suffers the indignity of being bumped for defense at two positions in two innings.

Wait, I just saw the 'Bat Signal'

I'm not sure if I'm part of the problem here or part of the solution.

Meanwhile, that's three HRs served up by Taijuan Walker in an eight batter span over two games.

=ashie62 post_id=195860 time=1750537814 user_id=90]I once saw a study that basically said when streaks, win or lose get to about six or seven the odds of it ending go exponentially higher.

Even during the debacle that was the month of May '24, the Mets didn't have a seven game losing streak.

They did, however, have two five-game streaks [Mar 29 - Apr 4, May 20 - 25] in a four week span.
