Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2025 Posted May 29, 2025 Lefty wearing 29 reminds me of Ike Davis a little but Young to me is more of a modern-day Kelvin Torve. What do you think?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2025 Posted May 29, 2025 He's from Canada, so they think he's slow, eh?Seems like an easy guy to root for. Been watching him play here in Syracuse and seemed to have figured out that level at least (.877 OPS across 97 plate appearances). Go get em kid
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2025 Posted May 29, 2025 Jared got some big cheers at the game Tuesday after his HR
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2025 Author Posted May 29, 2025 He hit that one hard.Torve was from South Dakota, which is like Canada I think. Here's something: Prince George is one of Canada's most dangerous cities with organized crime, drugs and a high murder rate.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2025 Posted May 29, 2025 When he was in AAA this year, there were articles about him in Metsmerized and Amazin' Avenue which noted that he was working hard to get back to the majors. So, I checked to see how he had done in his brief ML stint. In his two years with the Cubs, his slash line was .208/.288/.458/.746.But in his 2023 AAA year, it was .310/.417/.577/.995 with 21 HR, so I'm encouraged.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 29, 2025 Posted May 29, 2025 He is more than from Canada. PG is a crossroads in the wilderness, more than eight hours north of Vancouver.Imma guess that only perhaps Belfast-bred P.J. Conlon qualifies as a Met born further north in latitude. Also pretty dangerous territory, as it turns out.
