batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Mets at Birds? Which birds? Blue Jays? Orioles? Cardinals?I give up.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Mets are pitching Holmes but will be wearing their road grays.Cards will send Gray to pitch but will do so at home.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Generally speaking, Cardinal unis and imagery are among my non-Mets favorites, but these 'The Lou' jerseys tonight are kinda dumb.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Nimmo starting rallies with walks is good Nimmo.Be that guy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Well, so far this is a typical NYM game in 2025- Lindor gets on to start the 1st ... but isn't driven inThat's the 16th time (in 32 games) he's been on base to lead off the 1st, but he's only scored 5 runs and 3 of them came from driving himself in with a HR- they load the bases with no outs ... and no subsequent batter gets the ball out of the infield [GO, GO, BB, BB, K]We were fortunate that neither of the subsequent grounders were turned into DPs. Both could have been but weren't.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Pete getting an early start on Player of the Month for May.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 That caught-stealing didn't help his case, though.Steve is lucky he got back in the country after that John Oliver interview.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Vientos swings at some of the dumbest pitches. Was last year a fluke?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Generally speaking, Cardinal unis and imagery are among my non-Mets favorites, but these 'The Lou' jerseys tonight are kinda dumb.Indeed.Besides, it should be "Le Lou."
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Sorefoot Holmes isn't the best version of Holmes.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 That breaking ball ain't working so well for you this inning, Sonny.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Keith misses a terrific opportunity to dust off his 'No play for Mr. Gray' line as Sonny is pulled from the game.oe: cross posted with above
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 'Get your nose out of your scorebook', Gary
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Everybody gets a hit this inning.Between Gary talking over Gelbs and sleeping through the run-scoring E3, along with Keith sneaking out of the booth to hang with Ken Reitz, baseball's best booth is suddenly feeling like watching the Rizzuto-era Yankees.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Seems like there's been a lot of hitting tonight (both sides) but only 4 of the 9 runs have been driven in by hits.Cards scored on a GO, an E, and a 1BMets scored twice on GOs, once on an E, then on Pete's 2R HR and Alvarez's 1BThe game has had a little of everything except for smooth play.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 This lineup is giving me an early summer boner
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 That Taylor-for-McNeil defensive sub paid off nicely.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 That one carried a lot further than I thought it would.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Best booth in baseball also missed a pinch-hitter announcement.Off night, fellas.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 The early defensive substitution of Taylor for McNeil makes sense at most levels, but it also cost the team their last infielder with four innings (at the time) to play.
