The Mets, having taken the first three games of an Easter/Passover weekend, wearing three different uniforms and covered by three different TV booths, head out there looking to step up with a now-rarish four-game thundersweep of the St. Louis Cardinals.



Will there be a fourth uniform? Will the announcers launch the old-school WPIX broadcast with a fourth lineup? Who knows?! But then, life is for learning!



Former Yankee Clay Holmes takes the mound for the Mets and future Yankee Sonny Gray puts the ball in play for the Cards.



Along with the usual Sunday lineup fun, both teams are sitting their regular thirdbaseman, but as a deferential nod to the Great Law of Conservation, the Cards are replacing theirs with another guy named Nolan.

There was pregame talk about the possibility of naming Lindor as the Mets Captain



I like it. I still think of captains more in the context of hockey or the mafia

Gary relates that the reason he was out Friday is because their beloved Great Dane died , 13 years old , which for a large breed is old , especially for a Dane

Not until now when Gary mentioned where the term "walk off" comes from did I really even think about it , it's not for the hitter , Denis Eckersly coined the term for the pitcher having to walk off after giving up the hit, and now it makes perfect sense
