Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 Reports of him being signed by the Giants coming just now from Sports Illustrated and their crack team of artificial intelligence entities.Joey was a rare Met, bringing a pitch unique to him and him alone. Carried the water in the last game of 2024.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 Pathetically underutilized by the Mets. Could have forged a solid big league career, but New York stymied that. He's now 31 years old with just 81 games under his belt, thanks to NY giving him just 22 appearances and 95 1/3 innings since 2021. Started out with promise with San Diego in 2018, but that promise was snuffed out because of New York's mismanagement of him.The Mets surrendered a Baseball America top-25 prospect (Endy Rodriguez) to get him, too, making it that much worse.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 20, 2025 Author Posted January 20, 2025 In part, he had a habit of not being healthy at the time the team had a need. A strange four-year stint. When he was hurting, so was I.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 Best Mafia-esque Met name ever.Drop the gun, don't look away from anyone but don't look anyone in the eye.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 20, 2025 Author Posted January 20, 2025 Pete Falcone cedes the throne.

I often wondered, 'Why don't they call up Lucchesi?' only to find out he had an injury.Gary will miss being able to say 'churve', a word he clearly loved.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2025 Posted January 21, 2025 Great Mob name but didn't look anything like a guy called Joey Lucchesi should look.Set himself with his glove held high like an old-school pitcher. Wore #47.
