The Dodgers have one more game in Atlanta tonight. LAD had scored 2 and 1 runs in the first two games of the series then had just 2 again

heading into the 9th last night before exploding for 7 and their first win of the weekend.

After tonight the Braves head to Cincy for a series.

Arizona (+2 vs NYM) is in Colrado for a series starting later tonight

Padres (+3.5) are hosting Houston

Yamamoto vs Fried. Good pitching matchup.

It's only Yamamoto's second start since coming back from the IL. Last time he was limited to 4 innings, 59 pitches. Hopefully he can give some more length tonight.

Fried lost his last start against the Nats, but has been pretty good all year.

4-0 Dodgers who are still batting in the 7th .... though I was looking for more as it was an Ohtani AB w/bases loaded and one out but just one run via a FC

So NYY pitcher Luis Gil, despite being given a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st last night in Seattle, loaded the bases in the bottom half on a HBP, FO, walk, walk, FO.

He then went 3-0 on the following hitter. So what does M's runner on 3rd Victor Robles decide to do at this point? Steal home of course. He was out.

Again: bases loaded, pitcher can't find the plate, two outs, down two runs, Justin Turner at the plate, eight innings still to play.

Yanx wound up winning 11-2 so maybe it doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things but yaneverknow.

In a reversal of recent days, all three 'rival' games today start prior to ours.

- DBacks already lead 3-0 in the middle of the 1st in Denver

- Astros @ Padres, 6:40

- Braves @ Reds, 6:40

Would be nice to see the DBacks stumble. Of our WC competitors, they have the toughest schedule. 4 with Milwaukee after this (though the Brewers might clinch). Then end the season with three against SD.

Brew Crew walks off over the Phillies.

Milwaukee captures the division, and the Mets put a little heat on Philadelphia going into the series.

Philadelphia's magic number to clinch a playoff spot is 1. Their magic number to clinch the division is 4.

Unfortunately, Philadelphia would win the tiebreaker against the Mets with any one victory. Thus, Philly could clinch the division with one win against the Mets AND two Braves losses.

Mets could really use a sweep.

Some dumbass named Ty France grounds into a DP with the bases loaded. Score remains 4-1 Braves. Sale through 3 innings. Mets will likely need to win again to keep pace.

Braves wind up edging the Reds 15-3 this afternoon. SDP & ARZ have the day off.

The coming weekend sees the Snakes going to Milwaukee while the Braves head for Miami and the Padres host ... sigh, the White Sox.

Ohtani became the first 50 (HR) - 50(SB) player (in one season) in major league history by registering two of each in today's game.

So as if Victor Robles's failed steal of home to end the game two nights ago wasn't bad enough, Wednesday's M's/Yanx game went to the 10th with

the Yanx scoring once in the top half. Julio Rodríguez was the free runner in bottom 10 and, following a single, he was on 3rd with no outs as the

tying run.

A swinging strike sent a bat helicoptering towards him so he ducked into foul territory. Then he bizarrely kept moving towards the dugout as if it

were a foul ball and not a clean strike at which point the Yanx easily picked him off for a K/DP. The game ended on the next play.

M's managed to salvage the final game of the series this afternoon but they brought a whole lotta stupid to the first two games.

OoTS Today:

Braves @ Marlins playing simultaneous with our game: currently 1-1 in the 2nd

Diamondbacks @ Brewers - 7:10 EDT

White Sox @ Padres - 8:40 EDT

Orioles down 4-2 to Tigers in the 9th at Camden Yards, Closer Jason Foley on for Detroit:

Single, Single, Walk, 2-RBI Double (Gunnar Henderson)

Game tied, 2nd & 3rd, no one out, pitching change

Tigers currently one game out of final WC slot ... but that's looking kind of slippery right about now.

Cedric Mullins - GO runner holds

Anthony Santander - Pop Out to SS in very short LF, no tag despite a nasty collision between SS & LF

Colton Cowser - FO to CF (they got their FO's in the wrong order)

And they're going to the 10th
