Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 I guess I'd like th thank the O's for pulling the guy who retired four straight following the 3R HR ... but it probably doesn't matter at this point.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 The game ending on a caller third strike is only too fitting.

That helped. Because the Mets were trailing. So don't swing at the first pitch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 The story from this game going forward is going to be whether Quintana stays in the rotation.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Mendoza said in the post-game presser that its not even a question at this point---he's staying.Manaea today means three lefties in a row. The radio booth asked when the last time that happened (three lefty Mets starters in a three game series)----those who didn't listen, have at it.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Quintana's ERA since the start of August is 8.27. However, since the start of July, it's a more respectable 4.56 and since June 15, it's still a decent 3.86. The past four starts have been rough, but the two starts before that he allowed just one run each. In July, his ERA was 2.05. I'm not throwing the towel in on him, yet.Still, a very sucky game. I had hope at one point there. Also, Ottavino's ERA since June 8? 3.18 in 25 appearances. So, he's been better. Still don't want him back ever again, but he's been better.
