kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 They're still 3 games over .500... so there's that. Remember when no one thought they would sniff .500 this season? Sweep the Fishsticks, right the ship NOW!!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Look for Smarte and Sean Reid-Holymoley back this weekend and watch the wins start piling up.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Just finished watching via delay and even with FF'ing through the commercials the game took over 3 hours.Even if they came back to win that one they should have been forced to give it back. They didn't deserve it.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 A final pitching autopsy on this game- 425 pitches thrown: 213 total/134 strikes by Oakland, 212/110 by NY- each of the five NYM relievers was credited with one inning pitched and every one of them needed at least 20 pitches [27, 24, 25, 24, 20]- 32 combined swing-and-misses [7.5%] or about one pitch in 14. There was a time when that was considered normal but not today.Gary kept talking about the number of pitches fouled off
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Catching up on some games.Hey, it was fun at first. But it dragged and dragged.Too many walks by the pitching. The pitching will be why the team doesn't make the playoffs this year, should they not make the playoffs. The Mets walked more batters this game than Carlos Silva did in all of 2005, when he tossed 188 1/3 innings (he allowed 9 walks that year). Seth Brown of the A's looks like Lucas Duda.Carlos Mendoza always looks like he just smelled something bad.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
