I'm getting trolling Jet fans out of my system with wondering where back in Jan of ‘69 Joe Willie walked off this plot of land where the stadium is, destining the Jets to decades of failure ;)



Different building entirely of course, might go down a rabbit hole of Orange Bowl and “I'm Still Calling It Marlins” Stadium configurations when I get back to my hotel ;)

Mets might well have sent Álvarez up to bat instead of McNeil.



There were two out, so they needed an extra-base hit to score, and Álvarez was going to have to enter the game anyhow.

Other than the two McNeil HRs, the Mets have scored runs on a Sac Fly, a ground-out, another Sac Fly, and a single across these three post-ASB games.

2/22 w/RiSP (one of those being the 2nd JMcN HR) so 1/21 otherwise and that one only occurred due to a Marlins error setting up the situation.
