MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Seeing Garrett in this inning means they're saving Ottavino for later innings. I would reverse the order.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2024 Author Posted May 22, 2024 There's nothing to save anybody for. The game is now.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Rodriguez is the third Guardian batting under .180 who has driven in a run in this series.Later
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Wheels Vientos has orange spikes today
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Could be the Mets are the mistake by the lake today
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2024 Author Posted May 22, 2024 The mistake was plunking David Fry.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Eh, we weren't coming back from one run anyway so this all is merely window dressing.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Steve better extend the NO FEES to entice fans to come
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2024 Author Posted May 22, 2024 This has been two different games.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2024 Author Posted May 22, 2024 Anybody else agree that throwing a one-hitter, facing the minimum number of batters, on an impressively low pitch count, José Quintana seemingly made unnecessary trouble for himself by plunking Fry with seeming intent? The turning point didn't follow immediately, but follow it did.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 To a veteran pitcher, it should not have been more or less upsetting than allowing a base runner by hit or walk.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2024 Author Posted May 22, 2024 I didn't mean to suggest it was upsetting to José Quintana.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Garrett was bound to come down to earth eventually. If the Mets are tanking in June and he still has an ERA below 3, the Mets should trade him while he has value.
