Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 I'm Brandon Nimmo, and you can come with me if you feel like happiness is the tooth! Or something!Last season, I gave up contact and on-basiness for power. It paid off ... or did it? Did i get so focused on upping my game in one department that I hurt it in another? How's that going to play out in 2024?And, oh yeah — apparently, I'm not a centerfielder anymore. But happiness remains the tooth.[FIMG=350]https://elitesportsny.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/gettyimages-853056728-new-york-mets-amazin-news-1-17-18-adrian-gonzalezs-impact-and-nimmo-on-the-move.jpg[/FIMG] [FIMG=350]https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2018/07/brandon_nimmo.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=1200[/FIMG][FIMG=350]https://i2.wp.com/nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2018/08/bnn.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&ssl=1[/FIMG] [FIMG=350]https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/09/c4320-16620707589577-1920.jpg[/FIMG]
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 He'll be named Team Captain. (I know I said the same thing about Lindor. I think it will happen for one of them. Maybe even both of them.)
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 Have the Mets had a captain since Wright?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 His batting average will be inversely proportional to his position in the lineup. If they drop him down and they expect more power, that's what we'll get, at the expense of average.Later

I nominate Lindor as Captain and Nimmo and Pete as Vice Captains. And for the guy in question, Nimmo has been very consistent the last couple years. Maybe a shift to left will let him be bat-first and have maybe his best year. I say .270/.370/.470 with 26 bombs, 105 runs scored and a career-high 8 triples.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 Should he stay healthy, I predict this will be his first All-Star season.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 2024 Team MVP. There will be an off-season push for #-retirement!(no statue, let's not get ahead of ourselves)
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 he dependably hangs around his .270/.380/.447 career line, so let's go with that. Breaks 100 runs for the second time in his career.
