Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 I opened this thread expecting Cameron Diaz content and instead I got a no-name reliever. What a buzzkill.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 Do parks ever use canned walk-up music in Spring Training? It'd be kind of funny if he got the fanfare for some fourth-inning March outing on the road against the Nats in Palm Beach.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 For a guy who was 'said to' be making a token appearance or two last September (before that plan got dumped)I have to say that they didn't deem him ready to go even five months after that isn't what I'd call a great omen.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 Maybe, but I tend to think that slow rollouts during spring of players you are providing special care for is more typical, and deploying such an animal all through spring is seen more as wasteful than as preparatory. He's a closer, so sending him out for 20 pitches is sending him out for something like his full payload for a regular-season appearance. They probably don't think he needs much more than two or three such outings and he's ready to go (or not).
