Who says the Mets have nothing this offseason? Apparently the team is tinkering with the caps worn with the black jerseys on Fridays. The NY is losing the white outline around the NY, and the orange that was treated like a drop shadow is now an outline. I think this is the treatment that was on the black caps with the blue bill.

Not a huge change, but looks good to me.

Not offensive.

But I still don't like showing them with a flat brim.(the subject of other threads)

Some Guys On The Internet see the cap as a "City Connect" leak. Mets are doing that this year for the first time and I was hoping they didn't do the obvious and least imaginative thing and go with black.

Blue and black is always going to be a hard combination. I'm not sure why they haven't gone full New York Giants with an orange insignia on an all black hat, with no outlines or shadows, unless there's some ownership by or agreement with the modern day Giants that doesn't allow for that.

I'm skeptical about the City Connect claim. Teams have had leaks of designs, but this is on the Mets website. I've never seen a City Connect cap released separately from the jersey. Also, the Angels had a new cap released yesterday, too, and they already have a City Connect cap out there.

I'd love to see the Unisphere incorporated into a design!
