Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Which of these prospects are you most eager to see?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 I like that they're similarly close, so there'll be a lot to see. And we'll hopefully get to watch the development of Álvarez/Baty/Vientos/Mauricio in the meantime.I voted for Jett. I like that the Mets were crazy enough to take a 5'6" guy (a full foot shorter than Lucas Giolito!) 14th overall in the draft, and he nonetheless has torn through the minors. I like that he might be the rare American-born guy to make his debut at 20. And I like that I thought that Jett was a lady suffragette.[FIMG=250]https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/fSIAAOSwOc5kMIET/s-l1600.png[/FIMG]He has a kinda non-descript country-boy face, though, and I suspect he may be generated by AI.https://metsmerizedonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/jett-williams-1.jpg>
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Author Posted December 27, 2023 I voted for Gilbert but it was close. Jett is very intriguing.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 I am looking forward to hopefully seeing all three of them soon. Ultimately, I had to go with Jett Williams. He intrigues me and I "adopted" him.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 I voted Gilbert. Lenny Dykstra type without the arseholeness. And they need outfielders.Later
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Well, in the Fan Memories section of this website, I have endorsed Grant Hartwig, Wyatt Young, Lorenzo Cedrola and Nathan Lavender, thinking they might be valuable assets for New York. Hartwig underwhelmed, Young hit .220 in the minors this year and Cedrola is no longer in the Mets system. So I'm eager to see Nate Lavender, because I want one of my endorsements to pan out. Though among those on the list, I'm most eager to see Gilbert. I honestly thought he might've gotten a look in 2023, but it wasn't to be.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Some dark horse juice ought to go to Ryan Clifford, Mike Vasil, and Christian Scott.Clifford mostly had a rough time after coming over from Houston, but they were reportedly reluctant to let him go and he'd prospered wherever he'd been before that despite being well younger than the league. I'm watching him close.
