You watch and think "they can't play any worse" and then you watch the next game and they do.

1st & 3rd, 1 out

- we hit an IF pop up and it kills the inning

- they hit an IF pop up snd it leads to multiple runs

We hit into multiple GIDPs but give up runs because we can't turn one

We lose runs by hitting IF pop-ups, they Gain runs by hitting IF pop-ups

AJ P. is right: Lindor should have been at 3B. He was standing around ass-uming the catch would be made when he should have been covering the bag.

"Heading"? He had enough time to book a reservation on 3B. He was drifting toward 3d and being a spectator. The drop isn't on him b/if he was there he could have called off Baty.

This game reminds me of the Friday night game in Philadelphia when Nimmo missed a ball and Lindor missed a popup. The Mets gave that one away and they gave this one away. Give Pete and Jeff tomorrow off.

If Lindor was quicker towards 3rd it would have taken him further from the ball. The bigger problem was that Baty started out by playing the pop as if it were going to land in foul territory rather than 30 ft fair.

Nimmo's on a mashing tear. Six HRs in his last 14 games. Plus two that he just missed. One in yesterday's game and a 425+ foot blast in Philly just before the ASG break that couldn't quite clear the part of the outfield wall that was 20 or 25 feet high.

Yeah, I'm seeing it that way, also. We're trading a lot for solo homers.

Although that was an excellent at bat leading to a homer on a two-strike curve.
