Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 A counter-punch inning would go nicely here.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 So we've got nearly an infield hit, then an infield hit, then a HBP. So despite not a single ball hit over 30mph this inning, is there ANY chance the Brewers cone out of this inning with less than 3 additional runs tacked on?Reverse the teams and we'd GiDP on the first pitch. And now ANOTHER infield hit!!!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 That's what happens when you use your Canha.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Big break. But tough spot 4 Zimmo
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 Not sure that Marte is the guy I want with the bezes loaded, but I'm not sure I get a vote.Elevate, elevate. And don't chase.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 Yeah, that was sorta the outcome I was expecting.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Fucking hell. Oh, fucking hell.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 (edited) During the 23 games of 'The Swoon' the Mets have scored 20 runs from the 7th inning on. That by itself suxx enough (< 1 R avg = < 3/G)But wait, it gets worse: 14 of those 20 runs came in just three games, games that were already lopsided one way or the other! So late in close games, the Mets are scoring at a rate that would net them barely one run per game. Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 I think there's a case to send Alvarez to Syracuse for a week or two
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 I'm telling you — deploying every strategy in the book to avoid the double play is the way to go.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 So we have as many dropped pop-ups tonight as runs scored.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 I think I've had enough Joel Payamps this series. Let's knock him out of the box.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 Gah.I don't think that ball stays hittable if Pete waits a moment longer, but two hangers in one at-bat ... .
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 One walk all night. It's hard to win by scoring all your runs on solo homers.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Our best AB in the last 3 innings resulted in a foul ball.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 Young man with knockoff illustration of Calvin peeing on a Yankees logo — that shit was tired before you were born.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 And we're all set up for the game-ending GiDP
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 Guillorme. It's been a while since the Mets emptied the bench.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Not so sure that walk helps us.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 I'm kinda over Marte. I mostly feel like he never came back from his September finger injury.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 I never for one second thought they'd tie that game much less win it.This is THE most pathetic stretch of baseball I've ever seen.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 I thought Nimmo had a shot, the game ended when he walked.
