Heavin' Stephen was DFA'd, waived, cleared waivers, received a Syracuse assignment, rejected that assignment, became a free agent, and on June 16, was signed by the Diamondbaxxx to a minor-league agreement. He did all that but received no memory thread. And that is unjust.

So this — this here — is the Memories of Stephen Nogosek thread. Let's try to correct a historical wrong and 'member this mustachioed Met.

Had nine lives if not more as a Met, bobbed up and down a lot. I don't know how much. Somewhere along the way he lost uni No. 72 and took No. 85.

I remember the trade of Addison Reed that brought him, Callahan and a third dude I can't recall. It was the same day Amed Rosario made his Met debut.

The third dude was Gerson "That's Our Gerson!" Bautista. A sliver of his DNA continues on in the person of Edwin Diaz.

Led a raise the roof-style celebration in the bullpen this year when Pete homered.

The latest information has him still hunting for his next employer. There are retirement rumors, but we cannot stress enough that at this point, these are just rumors. None of us have been able to independently confirm this as fact.

Time's up. The impostor is Sean Reid-Foley.
