The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Now this is more like it.Very impressive 7th inning by Raley. Then Nimmo hits a no doubter to extend the lead.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Damn, Ottavino with a rough outing. Need 4 outs from Robertson.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 2 run HR from Ramirez , Mets down 4-3
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 The Mets have simply worn out their bullpen due to the starters not giving them quality innings often enough. The offense needs to step up again.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Hot Damn! Marte with a 2 run Bomb. Mets back in front.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Pham swipes second to get in scoring position. Sanchez goes down on strikes. Need to get Pham in with the insurance run.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Robertson with a much better 9th inning to hold on this time. 4 straight wins.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Missed a bunch a the end I have see yet but still gonna pee happily. Don't forget if you auto DVR games on SNY and PIX, tonight is on theDeSantis Network so plan accordingly.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 It appears that Scherzer's zeroes did not go for naught.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Odd call to pull Scherzer at 86 pitches on doubleheader day. Also odd to go Raley for only 9 pitches.Very aggressive baserunning all around. Not just on Sanchez getting thrown out at the plate, and McNeil out (after replay) stretching for a double, but also Pete going first to third on a single to short center. I do like the aggressiveness, but combined with Marte getting picked off first, 3 outs on the basepaths is a lot.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 21, 2023 Author Posted May 21, 2023 Ain't no wasted efforts in beisbol.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Mets fell short of getting thrown out for a cycle [1-3, 9-3-2, 9-6] and, as with most missed hitting cycles, this one too failed at 3BAnd even without those miscues, NYM bats got the bare minimum runs out of the offense they generated. Fortunately, it was justbarely enough.

"I'm no Roger Clemens," he implied.
