Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 The Mets had been accumulating 10 or more hits per night, but due to a lack of walks and an utter foreswearing of homeruns, they weren't scoring as much as they might. So this evening, the team found its homerun stick, but didn't get the base hits, and still came up short. In game two, it all comes together — the hits, the power, the walks, the speed — that makes and offense go. Japanese righthander Kodai Senga takes on Flemish lefthander Josh Fleming, who may be an actual starter or he may be an opener. He has been used both ways.In a special promotion, the Mets will provide the first 41,000 fans through the gates with a seat, with the possibility of seeing a competitive baseball game from that seat.Restrictions will apply. Please see your ticket for details.

You mean he did that, too?No, IMO he just doesn't have enough power for that slot in the Batting Order. If they're going to bring up Vientos, why not him there?(Of course, he'll probably hit a homer his first time up)Later Edited May 17, 2023 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2023 Author Posted May 17, 2023 C.B. Bucknor sorta seems to take pride in making bad calls just to show managers that he's the boss. Big ol' chip on that guy's shoulder.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2023 Author Posted May 17, 2023 Mets — especially Senga — outplaying 'em so far — but that gidp by Alonso was a ship-sinker.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2023 Author Posted May 17, 2023 Ten outs into the game, Senga has eight strikeouts. But there's a one-out dubb.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2023 Author Posted May 17, 2023 I can think of a dozen reasons to keep rookies at the back end of the lineup until they hit their way up.There's a reason a guy was in the minors until this afternoon.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2023 Author Posted May 17, 2023 It'd be terrific to get that run back and maybe put a ribbon around this performance.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2023 Author Posted May 17, 2023 First, it'd be terrific to get out of this inning.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Well, that second run probably puts not only tonight's game out of reach but tomorrow's too.
