We gave up and went to a sports bar in Woodley Park to dry off. Still in a delay, still raining. Probably another hour or so if they're willing to wait that long.

Seems like you put some distance between yourselves and the ballpark. Two good Mediterranean restaurants around there: Mama Ayesha's and Lebanese Taverna.

At least, I hope they're still there. Stop in if so.

Has not been called yet

This has been nearly four hours by this point.

They can't really be serious about waiting this out longer xan they? Unless the forecast suxx for tomorrow too (and it may) 15 innings tomorrow sounds better than trying to wedge six more in tonight.

They suspended the game and will play it tomorrow as part of a split doubleheader. Except that we have brunch reservations for Mother's Day at that time, so we lose everything. What a bunch of steaming bullshit. At least we didn't stay there in the rain for 4 1/2 hours to hear it.

As one of those that sat in the ballpark for 4 hours yesterday, what gets me is that it obviously didn't have to happen: the weather forecast was right so we saw that it would start to rain at 4 and end at 7—starting the game on time led to the postponement as the field became unplayable. WSH could have decided in the early afternoon that the game would begin at 7 and all would have been fine... or they could have called it as there were plenty of alternatives: 1) 2 games on Sunday; 2) 2 games Monday; 3) better yet, the Mets return in September for games on the 5th and 6th. Oddly, both teams are off on Labor Day and home the previous day so a game on Labor Day fits perfectly; 4) if not, both teams are off on the 7th (yes, 2 days off that week). The Mets are in MIN on the 8th so a day game on the 7th would have worked, too. Instead, WSH chose the worst option by starting on time.

Jr lives in Woodley Park. Lebanese Taverna and Mama Ayesha's are both still there and are both delicious in their own way. There's been a lot of restaurant upheaval in the neighborhood, but those have survived. Got Federalist Pig for lunch over in Adams Morgan before the rain moved in. Awesome barbecue (chef's kiss).

Many people across baseball are upset with how the Nationals dealt with the rain delay. The Nats Twitter page did not have updates during the delay

Don't know who will pitch for the Mets, is Butto around?

Two hours until resumption

Very little info (none?) online about what's going to happen at 12:35.

Nogosek will take over the pitching in the resumed game.

Lucchesi optioned for his trouble.

Dennis Santana recalled. Seth Elledge DFA'd to clear 40-man space.

Oooph, 3 left on with 2 outs in hand and Vogie caught chasing outside the zone that would've been a walk on a full count.

How we don't rue this inning.

Wow, those pink bats need to go Perez nearly lost an eye.

We've had more broken bats in this game than I've seen all year.
