I think it might be Forbes Field, which had ivy on the wall and lasted until 1970. Cool photo.

My friend Martin shared this photo with me today of his family playing a game of baseball back in 1921. His grandfather is pitching and his grandmother is playing first. The shortstop, seriously unintimidated by the batter's big chokeup, is really cheating in.



Pitching in a boater hat is pretty boss, I think. His grandfather's younger cousin was future Gashouse Gang star and eventual MLB Hall-of-Famer Ducky Medwick.
