Finishing up the 'killer stretch' of our schedule with a get-away game vs the Dodgers

Most get-away games wind up as 1 PM starts but I guess since we're playing LA we're doing things on Pacific time

LA's parade of lefties continues as it's Clayton Kershaw's turn (and we didn't even see Julio Urias)

Kershaw is, as he seems to be a lot in recent years, fresh off the IL having not pitched since August 4th.

Just 15 starts this season for the 34 y/o 15-year vet. His fewest ever, aside from the Covid year, is 21

So expect a short leash then lots of pen action, and maybe we'll actually get a hit off Jake Reed before this series ends.

Chris Bassitt plays the party of the other part.

A World Series card from 1517 since Frayed Knot likes those designs better.

I remember thinking about creating a medieval Mets baseball card for Schaefer years ago. It was going to be an R.A. Dickey card (which shows how long ago it was) but I never got around to it.

I tried to do this for you in Dall-E, but it objected to..something. DICKey probably.

changed it to "of knuckleball pitcher #43"

Dunno why it insists on only drawing 90% of the card.

Those knee divots in the turf are a result of the super-draining fields, and sooner or later, one of them is going to destroy a knee or two.

Dodgerdickhead wanted lights turned on.

Lights take awhile to ignite.

Lights make zero difference.

Bassitt gets third out.

Clayton Kershaw is graciously done for the day.

Now we get Chris Martin who, along with Will Smith, makes for all-Grammy-winning battery.
