Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 Assume, as we must, that the Mets will make the playoffs. If Diaz and Ottavino are locks for the bullpen, who are your other 6 relievers? (Feel free to write in a 7th if you you think they should have an extra reliever over an extra bench player).
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 Peterson, Lugo, Megill, Williams, Givens, May.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 I will go with Lugo, Smith, May, Peterson, Megill, & Williams.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 Goodness, this is harder than I thought. Assuming a starting four of deGrom/Scherzer/Carrasco/BassWalker, that leaves in what seems like the most likely order of preference:the other half of Bassitt/Walker (I picked Walker above)Lugo seems like a lockWilliams tooMayPeterson because you need a leftyGivens will be given a lot of ropeif Drew Smith is back and effective, he takes a spot over either Givens or May, whoever's less effective down the stretch. And I don't know how you leave Joely off, because otherwise you have only one lefty on the staff. But Joely is mostly terrible, so maybe they go without him.Megill is an interesting piece too.
