Stanton on the IL for the MFYs, so he won't be around to whistle or whatever little bitch thing he did last September with Walker on the mound.

Ralph Kiner must be looking down and shi**ing a brick, seeing an MFY with his name.

Yankees placed OF Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list with left Achilles tendinitis.

Not good. Stanton was expected to return to the Yankees' starting lineup for Tuesday's Subway Series opener against the Mets, but instead lands on the injured list with an Achilles issue after missing three of the team's five contests since the All-Star break due to general soreness and fatigue. The 32-year-old slugger has hit .228/.309/.498 with 40 runs scored, 24 home runs and 61 RBI across 328 plate appearances in 80 games this season. It's unclear how much time he'll wind up missing at this point. There should be some clarity on his status shortly.

Props to whoever adjusted the font size to fit Higashioka's name in the box without a hair's worth of space to spare.

That looks like a not-so-impressive Yankee lineup until I remember that Matt Carpenter has turned into Harmon Killebrew since joining the team.

I wonder if Josh Donaldson has any clever opinions he'd like to share.

Not Killebrew, but rather just a hair off the pace of Barry Bonds circa 2001 [1 HR every 6.6 ABs as opposed to 6.5 for Bonds]

Put another way, Carpenter is hitting HRs at nearly double the rate of Judge this season and only Schwarber, Alvarez (HOU), and Riley (ATL) are within 10 of Judge's 37.

Yan have had 92 of their 97 games this season started by their main five starters: Gerritt Cole = 20; Jordan Montgomery = 19; Jameson Taillon (19); Nestor Cortes (18);

Luis Severino (16).

On the offensive side, only Josh Donaldson has missed as many 10 games (11 - and that was part injury/part suspension).

But Severino is on the IL, and now so is Stanton, plus their bullpen has taken some hits.

And the free agent-to-be opens the scoring.

And wearing Rickey Henderson's number, for Pete's sake.
