Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Well, he's batting like Lazy Mary.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 My advice to him would be is to pay attention to me.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Mikolas ain't showing me that much. He's got a slider, but instead of breaking off the plate toward the back foot of lefthanded batters, it's breaking outside-in, right into their wheelhouses.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Pitches thru 3 innings: Miklos = 65, Williams = 41
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Trevor Williams has exceeded my expectations.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 The deGrom update feels muted. They might push it til 8/1.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Crappy half inning for the home plate umpire.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Yeah, although I thought he got the Jankowski bunt attempt call correct..
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 No walks for Williams, four hits and two of those were cheesy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Trevor Williams being robbed of his chance to shine here.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Stinky situation for Jake Reed to be breaking the tape on his 2022.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I feel like Reedy is being hung out to dry here.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Hard to pitch a shutout inning while living more dangerously than Reed just did.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I don't recommend using Reed for a second inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Reed gets out of the inning via the first guy to actually make contact with one of his pitches.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Surprising to see Reed get a shot at a second inning, but hey, they haven't hit him.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I'll be the first to admit that I did not expect Reed's second inning to be an 8-pitch, 1-2-3 outing.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Reason #11,547 why Buck is the manager and I'm not.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Lugo masters Bader on one pitch.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I *would* recommend using Lugo for a second inning.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 THAT'S the ball that leaves the park?!?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Hey, I agreed with both your assessments. I suspect Buck's line of thinking is to try to get extra innings out of the back of the pen while keeping the frontline guys fresher for future usage sooner ... like maybe starting about four hours from now.
