I doubt we'll get this one in but here we go...

4:05 EDT - Citizens Bank Park - Philadelphia PA

Scherzer RHP (4-0, 2.61)

Gibson RHP (2-1, 2.93)

And for believers and non-believers alike, a little ditty from Draw The Line:

Today - Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 52. Breezy, with a northeast wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight - Rain, mainly before 3am. Low around 43. Breezy, with a northeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

If this game gets cancelled, it's not as clear when it gets made up.

-Doubleheader Sunday (most likely): basically fine from the Mets' perspective, given they are off Monday. Sunday is getaway day for Philadelphia, however: they play in Seattle on Monday.

-Doubleheader Sunday, 8/21: would make the August trip

to Philadelphia 5 games in 3 days.

It has stopped raining here in NJ so who knows.

The Kinks used to do a rousing version of "Milk Cow Blues". Smithereens also.

Another rainout. There will be a "straight doubleheader" (the only kind of doubleheaders that are allowed in Florida) tomorrow at 12:35.

It's a double entendre reference to the apparent straightness-as-establishment-sexual-orientation campaign of Floridian lawmakers.

It's a stretch, but I see how he saw his use of straight there and couldn't pass up the opportunity. Puns can be like that. If you see one, even a weak one, and don't deploy it, it can get in your head and bother you all day.

I find it irresistible in tennis, particularly in the phrase "straight sets."

Billie Jean King lost to Martina Navratilova in straight sex. Yeah, but Billie Jean beats her at gay sex all the time--like that.

It's a bad habit, I know, but I can't seem to break it.

Edgy gets it.

When the schmain comes

They go see Syracuse

Who often tend to lose

When the schmain comes

When the SCHMAIN comes!

Let it rain, let it schmain

Let your love rain down on me

Let it rain, let it schmain

Let it rain, schmain, rain
