Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 ESPN games are all about irrelevancies. David Cone giving his Cy Young to his dad has nothing to do with the game at hand. And talking to Lindor while he's on the field is madness. I'm sure Buck had a shit fit about that one but was told to sit down and shut up.They don't really know what makes these teams tick, so they fill the time that could be spent giving you relevant information and analysis with 'personal stories' instead. Nothing makes you appreciate Gary, Keith and Ron more than a broadcast like this. Even when GKR take their detours for funny/silly/personal stuff, they never lose their focus on the game being played in front of them.3 weeks? That'll give me enough time to figure out how to synch Howie and Wayne to the TV picture.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 As I've said before, ESPN doesn't think we tune in to watch baseball. ESPN thinks we tune in to watch ESPN.Meanwhile on ESPN2, 'Kay Rod' had about a two-inning long love-fest with Keith who was in a small inset box via a bad connection from his home while Kay & Rod were on a larger inset as the game itself played on in the background.
