Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 One thing I credit Tony Larussa for: When one of his players would hit a batter up high, nobody had to charge the mound, and nobody had to warn the benches, because Tony would go out on the mound and scream at his player.

I read Buzz Bissinger's mostly bad book on LaRussa and there was an interesting section where one of the Cardinals got hit so LaRussa reviewed their lineup to find an equivalent player and did the same.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Sort of was suspecting Alonso was going to be pinch-run for there.

Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 I don't know if it's the camera angle, but the movement on Ottavino's pitches are incredible.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Impressed w/ Ottavino that inning. Cardinals look desperate and angry. Winning this one will badly wound them.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Karma looks like it is finally visiting deJong
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Author Posted April 26, 2022 It's fun watching infielders forgetting what they learned in little league.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 This is where one of the Mofo-ites complains that McCann should have 'saved one of his hits' for that AB
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Zimmo looks at every pitch till he walks
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 I don't think that was intentional

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 A kaslammy here would be sweet
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 The leadoff batter for STL tomorrow needs to eat some dirt. Then play the game and kick their butts.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Things not to do when trying to save a 3-run lead:1) Walk the leadoff hitter on 4 pitches.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Thanks for swinging at the first pitch, Bader and DeJong.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Not really seeing Díaz usual fastball speed or slider movement.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2022 Author Posted April 26, 2022 Down to their final out and strike. What could happen.Joking, of course.
