Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 NAME: Brandon NimmoAGE: 29 or possibly 7POSITION: Center Field (rf and lf)NUMBER: 9NICKNAME: "Nimms," "Tater"fWAR IN 2021: 3.0ZIPS PROJECTION FOR 2022: 2.8Full, complete seasons have never been my forte. But getting on base certainly is.Hi, I'm Brandon Nimmo. I'm so clean and dorky, I make David Wright look crunk. Does anybody even say crunk anymore? I do, which gives you an idea just how dorky I am.But I'm a dork who can play baseball. I've reached base at a .400+ clip three of the last four years, and while I'm athletic enough to do a lot more than that, it's all been full of owies, which has stunted my growth a bit, as well as made me something of a less-than-reliable figure. A full season from me will probably be a blessing to the Mets, but what happens when these injuries stop fully healing and have a cumulative effect? Ask yourself that!Ask yourself while telling me what my 2022 will look like. None of you suckers had an opinion about Eduardo Escobar, but I'm me. And you know me.[FIMG=252]https://www.si.com/.image/ar_1:1%2Cc_fill%2Ccs_srgb%2Cfl_progressive%2Cq_auto:good%2Cw_1200/MTY4MDA3OTU0NTE0NTE5NDI0/mets-brandon-nimmo-chicken-food-poisoning-virusjpg.jpg[/FIMG] [FIMG=448]https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/private/ar_16:9,g_auto,q_auto:good,w_1024,c_fill,f_jpg/mlb/jhsdsresf2dsbsxrmdi6[/FIMG][FIMG=321]https://metsmerizedonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/brandon-nimmo.jpg[/FIMG] [FIMG=379]https://elitesportsny.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/new-york-mets-v-colorado-rockies-2.jpg[/FIMG]

whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Gets his first hit sometime in mid May
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Not feeling Nimmo so much as prior years. Feeling disappointment and fingerpointing. But we'll see, and the crystal has gone dark...
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 300/400/500 17 homers, 15 steals, 40 doubles.Looks like I'm big on Zimmo this year
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 3, 2022 Author Posted April 3, 2022 Wanna get some action on how many games he appears in?
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 The over/under for "Nimmo's games played in 2022" stands at 115. I'll take the over.I don't subscribe to the notion that injuries are necessarily causal. Sometimes they're just bad luck, accumulating in a few players who acquire the reputation of fragile for one part of their careers but then vanish. See Paul Molitor.I am very optimistic on Nimmo in 2022. A huge season, MVP votes, maybe an All-Star year.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Roger that. Zimmo's injuries have mostly been circumstance. I don;t think there's reason to think he's got chronic problems. So he plays 145 games

m8644 Verified Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 i'll take 130. A .400 OBP at the top of the lineup for 4/5 of a season would be fantastic, finally.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Zimmo will Zimmo. .290/12/60, 100 scored. Will still run to first on a walk.
