The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 Nice depth piece. He likely fills the role that Kevin Pillar did last year. The Mets need far more help in the outfield than simply adding Plummer and Canha.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 Well, Plummer is on the outside looking in at this point. If he opens the season in Flushing, something has either gone wrong or gone remarkably right.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 Well currently it's Nimmo/Canha/Plummer. Even if you want to charitably put McNeil or Smith out there, he'd still be around. He's a good player. (light years better than Kevin Pillar) He may be on the decline, or maybe he really did figure something out in 2019 and now he's just sorta leveling out as a more patient, OBP guy. Put him and Nimmo up top and then that's where you can perhaps thrive with an over-aggressive masher like a Javy Báez type. Though Pete and Francisco would do just fine too. defense a bit shotty though.

He adds speed and proven defense in CF. If the Mets are going to react this soon to complaints, I guess I should start bitching about the lack of additions to the starting pitching rotation.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 And even if these new acquisitions don't ultimately work out, they've at least provided some excellent subject headings.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Might they be loking to trade Dom?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 There's no doubt that most members of The Cookie Club are highly vulnerable this offseason.
