Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Y'know what's better than productive outs? ... productive hits, except that we don't tend to do those.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 JD's ball sure looked out to me, but if the Mets aren't contesting it, then they ain't.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Walker settled in eventually. There seems to be problems with focus going on here. In my expert opinion.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 The other thing that irks me is knowing that with 9 outs left to give, and down one, they'll literally all swing for the tying HR, nine straight turns up. And if none of them hit it then they'll all shrug and go "Oh well, maybe tomorrow we get em"
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Swinging 3-0 like Rudy fucking Stein.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Per Fman99's comment, McCann is 0 for his last 10, it's 3-0, he's leading off, why did he swing?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 These Marlin pitchers are Trying to walk you ... stop fighting them!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Ron and Gary are twisting themselves into the ground exploring the swinging 3-0 question. If you're leading off down by a run, you shouldn't be swinging 3-0, even if your last name is Ruth.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 I've kind of had it with Joey Votto coaching our hitters.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Nimmo's chins are a knee high fastball according to the magic box.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 That's got to be at least six or seven warning track FOs in the last two games.

Absolutely. They were trying to provide logic to the illogical.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 I wish that the Mets were as mad at the baseball as they are w/the Marlins and the HP umpire. For the 2d night in a row, Lugo is on the mound as a 1-run deficit increases.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 He's out by 15 ft with a good throw home
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 What fucking knees is Gary seeing tonight? Those are called chins.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 We've been out-pitched, out-hit, and out-gloved for two straight nights.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Tantalizingly close.Do we get an Almora pinch-running appearance?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Gotta run for him, no?oe: Yup
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 You just knew that tack-on run was going to burn us.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 I'd say it's slip slidin' away, but don't want to be dismissively poo-pooed again.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Another awful night of Mets baseball.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Nice hit by McCann, but another loss. So much for beating up on the lowly Marlins.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 I'm not worried. With all of the smart people in the Front Office and Steve's $ they'll improve the starting pitching and the bullpen at the trade deadline.Hold on, my Producer is giving me an update...WHAT? It was LAST WEEK?
