kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 They're talking about Iowa and sweet corn on the pre-game. Seriously!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Baez's pitch selection reminds me of Juan Samuel.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 His bbrdotcom sim scores through age 28: Jonathan Schoop (946.7) Brandon Phillips (927.9) Alfonso Soriano (927.5) Miguel Tejada (925.2) Tony Batista (919.2) J.J. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Hey, Dom, if Joey Votto tells you to go left at a fork in the road, go right.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 If you find a fork in the road, pick it up.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Castro is up against the wall and he looks like poo-poo.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Stroman wouldn't have walked the opposition pitcher but Luis had to get involved and bring in his favorite reliever.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 And McNoggin starts a new hitting streak.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Good news: Only the bottom of the seventh.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 You can't hit into a DP by taking a pitch.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 “Schrock,” of course, is the syndicated, edited-for-time version of “Schoolhouse Rock”.It means: "Five for five".
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 "Five is an Unexpected Number" was one of the more memorable episodes of Schrock.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Rojas double switches so Smith is available to pitch multiple innings. But then after one successful, scoreless inning, he pulls Smith anyway. It's all academic since the Mets have not shown a great ability to score runs, but bullpen management sure has been a head-scratcher this year.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Perhaps the Mets should have found a way to get another bullpen arm rather than having to use Banda for a 2d inning (turned a close game into a blowout) and Hartlieb (same).
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Possibly the worst game of the season (if not, I've blocked out the others).
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Not going to be in first first for long if this trend continues.Conforto and Dom are killing them.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Barf. Missed all 9 innings of this one and maybe that's ok.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2021 Author Posted August 2, 2021 Possibly the worst game of the season (if not, I've blocked out the others). The Mets ultimately won on July 18th but that game had the worst inning of theseason? https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/mets-pitcher-taijuan-walker-allows-3-runs-pirates-blunder-foul-fair-video-reactionhttps://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/mets-pitcher-taijuan-walker-allows-3-runs-pirates-blunder-foul-fair-video-reaction
