It would be great if they used an actual goat as their catcher. I think Bill Veeck did that a few times, if I remember my Strange But True Baseball Stories.

Another embarrassing call by someone who is allegedly at the pinnacle of his profession. You could take your average High School ump and he/she would do as well as any of these clowns. For all we know, G-Fafif's least favorite player could have tried for 3d and been thrown out but he was given second as compensation for the incorrect call.

I imagine that's exactly what happened. He additionally added that he heard a thunk that was characteristic of a ball hitting off the back wall.
