Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 The tough road continues because these Brewers is good [22-9 since June 1]And unlike in past years, these are Brewers can both hit AND pitch (6th best in NL at RS/G, 6th best in RA/G) so less one-dimensional than maybe we're used to.We're going to go all Tylor Megill on them while they counter with Brandon Woodruff, a 28 y/o 5th year RH drafted in the 11th round draft pick in 2014 [Miss St U] who has turned a corner for them and turned in 16 starts; 7-3; 1.87 ERA; 0.78 WHIP in 2021
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 They've got three of the most exciting starting pitchers in all of baseball and the unhittable reliever Josh Hader who's like the Jacob deGrom of relievers with a 750 ERA+.Check out Hader's unbelievable numbers:https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/haderjo01.shtmlhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/haderjo01.shtml

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 It seems like that one game in Washington is the only time in the last several weeks the memorial-patch-wearing Mets didn't face a team wearing a memorial patch of their own.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Now I know where I've seen those Brewers uniforms before.http://www.cubpack995.org/_/rsrc/1523256250652/uniforms/bear-uniform/wolf_cub_uniform_new.jpg>
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Megill's mom is swelling with pride out there.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 I'm becoming very impressed w/Megill. His minor league numbers hint that he's got the goods, but if the Mets think he's punching above his weight at all, this dude is currently a helluva trade chip.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Lindor bunting drives me crazy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Old skool run manufacturin'. It's the year of the pitcher, guyz!
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Good job by Megill. 6 innings would have been nice, but he's done.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Author Posted July 5, 2021 So either Lindor's bunt "worked" in that the run scored even without benefit of a hit, ...or it didn't in that it almost assured the team that a leadoff double would lead to no more than one run.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Author Posted July 5, 2021 I'm beginning to feel like we may never see Conforto get another hit.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 It may have worked, but I want Lindor swinging in that situation. He's not getting $341 million to bunt. And Conforto needs to sit. It's just not happening for him right now.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Hey, cats, that was Conforto's best stroke in about two weeks.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 So, if you sit Conforto, is that in favor of a Villar/Pillar type o' platoon in right?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 I like Loup against righties. He keeps it down and uses both sides nicely.Against lefties, as tough as he is, I'm always afraid he's gonna hit the batter.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 It's the six innings in the bank with one hit, so the line of guys to sit is not short.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Monday: WoodruffTuesday: JakeWednesday: Burnes. The best and 2 of the best of the rest. This is a good series.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 It seems like every Met game this year has been 1-1 at the end of 6 innings.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Are they doing the wave? How can I mock Nationals fans when MY PEOPLE are just as stupid?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Author Posted July 5, 2021 Now isn't that much better than a bunt, Frankie?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Sweet hit by HotDom Smitty.I'm trying to figure out if they were traditionally aligned on defense, would that have been a 4-6-3.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Wow.Smith looked like he threw a rod coming around third and made it home on momentum.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Did Pete dent that baseball?Nice job by Lindor waving him in right away.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2021 Author Posted July 5, 2021 All ABs this inning > bunts, even the non-bunt bunt by McNeil
