It's Sunday afternoon and the rubber game of the 3-game series for the Mets against the scummiest pieces of scum in the National League, the Marjorie Taylor Greene's of baseball, the Washington Nationals. Taijuan Walker will try to be as good in the middle innings as he is in the early innings while the Mets hope that Patrick Corbin is as bad today as he was in his first two starts and not as good as he was in his 3d start.

Details on batter v. pitcher are at the link. Conforto and Davis are likely salivating at the thought of facing Corbin. Maybe Villar will get the start at 2B to give McNeil a day to play golf, I mean rest. (Update: true!) Pete moves up, Lindor moves down, Villar starts at 2B and it's an AA meeting in CF.

It will be raining in the 11368 in the morning but this says that it will be clearing around game time:

What's FanDuel pay on 4% chance, hopefully Gary Apple will break that down for us.

Keith would call that too close to take. I'm not sure I'd agree.

I do think, in a world of robo-umps, Brandon would reach at about a .600 rate.

I was happy to hear that Schwarber was going to be the regular LF for the WSHs, remembering his falling down in the NLCS. Sadly, it looks like he's improved a lot in the last 5 years.

He's also played a few very tentatively out there that a better LF maybe catches.

Anyway, it looks like today is 'Make Outs on the Bases' day.

Between Harrison being picked off, Villar's CS at 2nd, Robles out at 3rd trying to stretch, and Lindor getting gunned at home while tagging, we've had runners thrown out for the cycle in this game.

JDD doing that multiple shuffle-step thing again ... although his throws have been good.

btw, Almora's glove gives me a hankering for some key lime pie

1) The Mets win

2) Against WSH

3) Only 2:42

4) They played well!

The Mets clearly read the thread title and said, "you got it, bmfc1!"

This would have been a bad loss, to lose a series while playing them w/o Soto and not facing Scherzer (while they had to see deGrom) and Strasburg. But it wasn't, it was a good win!
