LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Reid-Foley has a weird thing happening with that pre-windup routine, don't he? Like, Kimbrel-cum-Crossfit.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Yeah this guy winds up like Elaine from Seinfeld dances. It's working for him so far though.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Sean Reid-Foley sounds like a House of Lords member
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 My back hurts after watching him for an inning.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Have the Mets ever had any other players whose last names were hyphenated? I can't think of any.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Have the Mets ever had any other players whose last names were hyphenated? I can't think of any.It depends on how you define "last," I guess, but Koo Dae-Sung is all I could come up with.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I feel like den Dekker should've been, though.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 The hyphen's throwing blanks up so far. Through two up-downs, no less!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Reid-Foley is pitching like a man who likes his Schaefer. His 93 seems to jump on guys like a guy throwing harder than that.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 SR-F: works quickly, throws strikes, does squats. What's not to like? (except for those ugly-ass arm tats)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Hey, Jason Adam! Consider a last name!
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I like this guy... motion to approve his entrance music as Axel Fhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7CaEWR_Kdkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7CaEWR_Kdk
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 If you're going to pair someone with Lucchesi during his starts-- starting one for the first turn or two through the lineup, then pitching the other for 3-4 innings-- Reid-Foley does seem to be a near-ideal complement. Style-wise, they're almost entirely-different pitchers.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 May be losing his location a bit this inning. He's working so wonderfully fast, he might be getting winded.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 If you can't change the pitcher then the coach shouldn't be allowed out there for a conference.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Brilliant. Now let's make SR-F the pitcher of record.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 By the way, that's three times the Mets hit the very top of the fence for a not-homer.

It's the only sport that allows the game to be stopped so that a meeting can take place on the field of play. "Hey kids, let's watch a meeting!"
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 So we had the 2+ minute half inning break, then Villar gets hit by the 1st pitch of the inning, that leads the more like a 3 minute pitching change break, one batter later we have a mound conference break because the Mets send up the most obvious PH on their bench, that conference goes so well that a double off the wall is followed by another pitching change break. And now three pitches later we're on to the next hslf-inning break. It's such a shame they can't find a way to cut down on dead time. Oh well, maybe the universal DH will do the trick.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 And now one pitch into the new inning we get a replay review break!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Don't forget all the practice pitches that the new pitcher threw so he can get used to the feel of the mound which feels the same way that the ones did in the bullpen (it's not like he was warming up in a cow pasture). And you're right, let's move the mound back instead.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Embarrassing performance by Conforto in the field, between that and the drop on the casual transfer earlier with runners on, especially following whatever defensive pep talk they apparently got this afternoon.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Let's grab this and get out of here.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 The sheriff looks a bit like Rod Beck's younger brother who went to the academy
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Yup.He's sure getting people to chase, too.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Um, maybe there's a reason to bring in a situational lefty to face Marisnick, but it ain't one to which I'm privy
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 After Marizzy took one off the foot, it may be a good time for McCann to pick him off.
