MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Only two bats in the picture, kinda' metaphoric for how the year has gone so far. Will it be prophetic?Later
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Kremlinologists are fascinated that J.D. Davis has been bumped from last year's cover and Carlos Carrasco gets a spot while Edwin Diaz doesn't.Jake has been represented on seven consecutive covers, an unofficial Official Yearbook record.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Looks like Conforto is about to give McNeil an elbow injury.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 I got my yearbook in the mail this week. I think the player portraits are exceptional. At first I thought it was odd that there wasn't the usual sections about events of the last season -- but then I remembered what last season was like under COVID. I thought the Seaver coverage was a little light. There's an "in memoriam" page at the front, which serves as a kind of dedication, one page with a paragraph and another about the patch. I guess I was hoping for something a little more since they had time. They could have reprinted the beautiful Faith and Fear in Flushing post (with permission, of course.)I did like the page about the owners through the years. Mrs. Payson was quite the bad ass in her time. I was surprised she was only 72 when she passed. I guessed that seemed really old when I was 11. Not so much now.
