Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Noah will be tonight's DH, the Designated Hittite
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Guillermo Heredia called up, is tonight's center fielder as Marisnick goes on DL for the rest of the year and perhaps all time
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 I knew Gandhi would be a bad fit.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Author Posted September 21, 2020 deGrom on a 10 pitch strike out the side mission in the first.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Who is Guillermo Heredia? Edgy finally made up a Mets player in real time. Nice work.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Heredia is part of the rare Lefty-glove / Righty-Stick club.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 I'm like Sting. I can't stand losing.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Who is Heredia? Oh, read the roster thread for once. He's been with the organization over a month.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Heredia fights back from 0-2 and draws a 2-out walk.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 He's a rally igniter!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 I have this habit. Every time Ramos gets on base, I start counting how many hits it's going to take to score him.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 I have this habit. Every time Ramos gets on base, I start counting how many hits it's going to take to score him. That ain't a healthy way to be.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Well at least we cleared the Alonso
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Kiermaier looksed like a righthanded batter desperately trying to hit lefty up there.JdeG fans #14.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 This Diego Castillo guy looks like HE should be the one labeled as the 'Bulk' starter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Well, deGrom hits the showers.Hopefully, he gets a shot at a complete game in his last start.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Good job getting the walk by Davis, for whom batting has really seemed like a foreign enterprise of late.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Marlins (by 2 in the 7th) and Philly (by 4 in the 9th) both losing. If we want to pretend that there's ANY chance of playing past Sunday we need to pull this one out here.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Alonso is terrible. I mean, awful
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 He is and if you look closely he has been since March. As someone who watched numerous spring games in person it was obvious that he was chasing and undercutting. He hit no spring HRs but you had to think that this would be noticed and fixed by July. It wasn't and still hasn't been. Whether Chili Davis is a good coach or not is unclear but Alonso needs a long break from baseball and being "Pete Alonso" to chill before he starts lifting and swinging again.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I thought Smotzy brought up an interesting point the other day, completely speculative and all, that Alonso is the kind of player that feeds on the energy of a crowd more than most, and the fraudulent season is making it more difficult on him than on other dudes. That's probably true at some level.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I'll give you credit for that interesting point and not Smoltz. If you watch the videos where he's mic'd he likes talking to the opposing team and his teammates so perhaps sitting in the dugout as the DH, stewing in the juices of yet another K, without the distraction of the fans or knowing his cute fiancee is somewhere in the building, isn't good for him.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 It's a completely old skool read, but it's probably true at some level for a bunch of guys.
