Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Excellent. I know I've seen a still pic at least of the 4 guys leaping on the field before.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 That's really cool.Was it a night game?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2020 Author Posted March 25, 2020 It was a night game. The leaping Mets is from the PG.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Huh! Somehow I always assumed it was a day game.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2020 Author Posted March 25, 2020 The Original Opener was scheduled for the day (night, too, I think) before but was rained out, so this was just the second date of the year.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 I would've never guessed they'd open the season with a night game in 1962. Thanks for the explainer.
