Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Two ABs could have potentially opened up this game.Ramos's 1-out 1st inning AB where he barely beat out the DP - a run scored by the big inning was killedand JD's AB w/1st & 2nd and no outs in the 6th where he was nipped on the DP relay by about seven strides. Conforto then followed with a ground out.Either or both of those gets stuffed into a gap somewhere and it's a whole 'nother ball game (and if the Queen had balls ... )
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Amed has trimmed his beard.a) it's about fuckin' time judging by his game tonight, maybe he needs to grow it backoe: OTOH, there goes his second straight hit, so maybe not
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 All of the people who were happy that Lagares was back in the lineup have seen why he wasn't. 2 big AB's, 2 flyouts.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 I feel like that's the second time Frazier stopped at third on a double this game. Am I right?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 How sucky to be one hitter short so many times in this game, to find out that Nimmo hit two homers in Syracuse.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 (edited) This game -- barring a comeback -- will be the fourth time in this five-game losing streak where we've out-hit the opposition. It'll also be just the second time that we've scored more than two runs, but each time we've had our worst pitching outings on those days (5-9 in the middle game vs Braves)But the tying run is now at the plate ... so who knows. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Is the Cubs' pitching coach a third of the age of the Mets' pitching coach?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I'm not saying it would help if we take down those Chik-Fil-A ads on the foul poles, but ... no, wait, I actually am saying that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 It could be.It's funny to be waking up the morning after a 10-7 loss and feel like the offense let you down, but getting the leadoff runner or more on every inning but scoring only one run in the last four was some hurting execution. Not ha-ha funny.
