cal sharpie Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 First IGT and first game attending this year. Gotta have it.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 This probably isn't a must-win from a wild card perspective but it might be if the Mets want to retain any thoughts of winning the division. Lets go Mets! Beat that pitcher we should have signed!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 It's getting to the end of the line for Todd. Helluva guy but with McNeil back, Nimmo soon, and Lagares not awful, Todd needs to be on the bench.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Well we didn't hit any come-backers or into any GiDPs that inning ... so, y'know, there's that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Gary, Keith, the Otis Redding song and the Black Crows song are the same song.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Speaking of songs, when René Rivera walks, shouldn't they be contractually obliged to play "Walk Away, Renee" or something?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 It's pretty goofy giving the team white hats and the pitcher a black hat.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Another DP comebacker but Kuechel blows it.Weird that Rosario wasn't running.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Leadoff hit. Time for Keuchel to get his glove ready.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Nice job Juan, swinging at ball four.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Now THESE are the Mets I recognize- pitching and not hitting, alternated with hitting and not pitching. I blame the uniforms.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Amed swung at ball four twice. Please SNY, no more fawning over Chili Davis.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 I predict that if this game were to go another 17 or 18 innings we could probably get the two runs we need.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 I like the no-double-play-ishness of a runner on second.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Let's put in Billy Hamilton to pinch-run for Davis.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Never seen Frazier run that fast
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Even when they're not hitting into GiDPs, they're certainly trying real hard
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Ramos only needs one trip to the plate to extend his hitting streak.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 (edited) Seven runs scored in 33 innings for the series against what is essentially a league-average pitching staff. And, of course, the one day you bunch five of those seven runs (three of them on one swing) is also the only one where you allow more than two.Not gonna win games that way. bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 From Friday: the Rosario AB, the Conforto AB. That game was waiting for them. I blame the whole weekend on those uniforms.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 In the recent six NYM/ATL games, the Mets lost 5 of 6 and got out-scored 32-24 despite out-hitting the Braves 69-54 overall.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 was at this one with the family. First game for the 2.5 year old. We got almost three innings in the seats before the 'disgusting' smell of sausage, peppers and onions by our seat was too much for the 5 year old and we wandered off to the shop and the ..Foxwoods? club.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 the only difference between the Mets during their winning streak and the last 4 games is that, instead of getting key hits at key moments, we didn't. So much of baseball is random chance and people are loathe to acknowledge that.
