RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Fivethirtyeight.com had deemed the Mets MLB's https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/behold-the-2019-mlb-all-average-team/?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark most average team this year.Of course, this is a bit silly from the start. The team was bad until July and very good in July and August, so the two parts of the season counteract each other. Other Mets listed as average are Dom Smith and and J.D. Davis.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 I think sometimes 538.com can be stretched for subjects. On the other hand, once at SPIN, thumbing noses at "overrated" and "underrated," we published a list of "THE MOST CORRECTLY RATED BANDS."

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 That article was a sequel to the one we published when I was on staff.I thought that, outside of The Beatles, The New Radicals were the band that I could mostly support being on that list. I mean, just about everybody who has ever thought about it would agree that "You Get What You Give" is the greatest Todd Rundgren power pop masterpiece that's not actually by Todd Rundgren, and all would also agree that the band is otherwise inconsequential and forgettable. It's HARD to find that sort of consensus.
