It has taken about 10 years to find out if Citifield truly is,

AN INDIAN BURIAL GROUND

I believed so then and I expect Matz and Co. to make it so now, Choke Shane Bieber, choke!

I owe youse a KTE on my adopted hometown's team, but I've been swamped lately. With work and family travel and occasional vacation bits, I haven't spent a whole lot of time in Cleveland this baseball season.

I root for the Tribe more often than not. But, for the next three days, fuck these guys.

They're good. They got better when they fleeced the Reds and Padres for Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes for the overrated Trevor Bauer and one or two middling prospects. They've got just the kind of strong pitching + power hitting combination that will give them a good shot at upsetting the better teams in the postseason if they can hold on for at least a WC spot.

José Ramirez seems to have found whatever he lost last year.

Ollie Perez is somehow in his eighteenth major league season and has turned into an effective LOOGY.

Kevin Plawecki continues to plaweck along as Roberto Perez's backup. He somehow has developed a reputation as a good defensive catcher, which reinforces my belief that no casual observer has any idea how to assess a catcher's defensive skills.

Carlos Santana is back on the team and though I always think of him as an on-basey line drive guy, he's something like seventh in the AL in home runs. Gary Apple can tell you more about him.

Corey Kluber is rehabbing a broken forearm in Akron. We won't see him this week. Carlos Carrasco has been undergoing leukemia treatments. The rotation is stocked with guys from Columbus who somehow have been doing a great job.

Lindor remains Lindor.

That's all I've got.

Kluber had some sort of setback with a lat muscle

The Indians are a well rounded very complete team. The Bauer trade was a fleecing. Franmil Reyes is very under the radar

Jose Ramirez and Santana have been off the charts. Lindor is elite. Maybe Rosario can get to somewhere near that one day soon. Like tonight

Looking forward to seeing this one

Rajai up, Lockett down. Gsellman might be out for the season. Nimmo is in Syracuse (not for vacation or to visit the Fman99's, he's playing).

Oh good. We're planning on attending on Friday, I think, we'll see if he's still playing up here after a few more days. Kind of hoping so.

Who's this guy doing play by play? Ronnie keeps calling him "Gary," but it doesn't sound like Apple. He sounds pretty good!

Panik showing the sort of range that makes you feel like Canó is still out there, as the Indian-Americans tie it up.

Matz looking painterly himself here in the sixth, although he just passed the magical 79-pitch limit.

Looks like the Mercado...

[pushes down shades]

... closed a little early tonight.

[Cue: "Won't Get Fooled Again"]

Seriously, though, that was terrible, bud.

Alonso just got punched out on the second of two fastballs in the exact same location. The first was a ball.

I think I can see what Puig and everybody are barking about.

Multiple hits PLUS a hard out PLUS a walk! on the night for Rosie.

We got a base-running issue to talk about over beers later on, but everything else is looking up.
