Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 Following a tragically little-noticed release last week (though you can't get anything past Greg), Ryan O'Rourke, one of the most successful pitchers in Mets history, has signed on with the same Minnesota organization that drafted him, hoping to put his 0.00 Mets ERA (and no hits, neither) on the line for the fearsome Twins. For now, he just zips 90 miles or so West on Interstate 90 from Syracuse to Rochester.Best of luck in the Flour City and beyond to our Ryan. Your brief but scoreless tenure wasn't quite enough to make me forget Gonzalez Germén.https://www.syracuse.com/resizer/5CLFei3INMGrVDiR7xnTGCctMC0=/1400x0/arc-anglerfish-arc2-prod-advancelocal.s3.amazonaws.com/public/OAWYPCNIPVDRBKZSGWW7GP2TGA.jpg>

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 A really prominent chin, a stupid uni number. I don't think I watched the game he pitched. Up and down a few times without appeararing in games too
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 Did not seem like the crappiest Met reliever by a long shot.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 13, 2019 Author Posted August 13, 2019 Look at that lousy crowd behind first. You'd think he's pitching mopup innings down 9-2. But no, he's making his Mets debut there in the https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYN/NYN201905010.shtmleighth inning of a 0-0 tie.He started by striking out Joey Votto and getting Eugenio Suarez on a popout before walking Jesse Winker. Seth Lugo came on to get the final out as Yasiel Puig lined to deep left. Let's hear it for no-doubles defense. Not to return to pre-win-streak complaints, but that game featured,Jacob deGrom going seven scoreless innings and getting no support.Jacob deGrom pulled after 101 pitches because 100 is magic and scary.Seth Lugo exiting after FOUR pitches.Edwin Diaz coming on and giving up the homer that would ultimately be the gamewinnerComing at home, it may be the game best embodying the ugliest parts of the Callaway era.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 I high-fived his parents after he pitched a scoreless inning during an early spring game against Houston.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Never even knew he existed.
