G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Got a Squirrel in right.A Scooter in center.A big ol' Polar Bear at first.Something that doesn't move unless it feels like it at second."Buffalo bagels!" as Col. Potter would have said, behind the plate.Toms River flows through third. The kid with the initials in left. The kid who preaches preparation at short. That fucking guy who'll fuck you up if you so much as look at him is pitching. And there are your Sunday afternoon Metsies!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Awesome with the kids meeting the starters on the field.LETS GO METS!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Your Sunday afternoon Metsies are on a pace for a 54 runs.Actually just 48 runs, unless the Bucs tie it up or go ahead and we need to play the bottom of the ninth.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 The pace of this game will more than make up for last night's speedy game.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 8-3 good guys. Pirate defense is atrocious.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 The Pirates are those people in your row who gather their stuff after six and leave.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Not often that ten consecutive different batters come to the plate in the 1st inning. At least they didn't pull what they did the other night -- and it was starting to look like they would -- and that's runs in the 1st inning and then shut-down mode after that.Wouldn't have worked as well today seeing as there was no deGrom on the mound. The Pirate defense, this whole series really, has been a mix of atrocious interspersed with some really good plays in between. Mets could definitely have been held to fewer runs with better gloves out there today ... or they could have scored a bunch more.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Bill may be late arriving today now that Burly Bashlor is screwing this up
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Pirates just went to the concessions. They're back in their seats.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 (edited) And they win the damn thing 8-7 !!I think the original 'Win the Damn Game' score was 9-8, but I could be wrong there Edited July 28, 2019 by Guest
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Diaz wanted to make sure it was a save situation.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Diaz wanted to make sure it was a save situation. It already was when he came in: tying run on base, at bat, or on deck. If none of those situations exist, a reliever can't then "create" his own save opp.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 I knew that.I was being facetious. Later
